Horse of the Year Show announce Dartmoors to have their own class!

The Horse of the Year Show has announced an expansion of its Mountain and Moorland ridden section and we were thrilled to see yet another native breed, the Dartmoor, have its own class at the final.

Previously Dartmoor ponies have been judged alongside Exmoor and Shetland ponies.

Throughout the season there will now be some individual qualifying classes for the Dartmoor ponies, as well as the usual mixed qualifying classes for all breeds as in previous years.

Whilst this news will undoubtedly be appreciated by Dartmoor exhibitors, we’re sure that it will also be welcomed as a further opportunity for Exmoor and Shetlands to shine in the ring as Dartmoors have dominated the top spot in recent years.
