Qualifying stories: Izzy Does Double!

Thirteen-year-old Izzy Collier made the BSPS area 7 show at Aston le Walls a double win on her 143cm plaited worker ‘Beech Hall Ryan’ and 153cm plaited worker ‘Lisnadrishna TicTac’ collecting both tickets for the 2022 Royal International Horse Show in July.

Izzy shared her opinions on the testing Rachel Turner course: “I loved the course. It was more like an arena event”. Izzy rode her 143cm worker ‘Ryan’, as he is known amongst the yard, to one of only three clears throughout all working hunter pony and intermediate sections and later took reserve champion on him. Izzy spoke about the key to her successful clear: “I rode forward to meet the spreads but kept them sat up and back on their hocks into the styles. I have the best aunty [Emmie Collier] who trains me and walks the courses with me.”

2022 will be Izzy’s first year contesting in the Open 153cm Plaited workers aboard Aimee Whites’ ‘Lisnadrishna TicTac’. Aimee previously rode ‘Ticcers’ in the M&M open Workers last year, Izzy and Ticcers are a new partnership from joining forces after HOYS 2021 and hope to keep consistent in the 153cm classes.

At only thirteen years of age, Izzy is still eligible for the 133cms, and hopes to ride aunty, Emmie Colliers, stunning 158cm five-year-old, Take Heart, later on in the season. Also known as Harry, Take heart is the first foal from Emmie’s 2011 HOYS winning intermediate working hunter ‘Hearts On fire’
